Great Bridge has one of the most active wrestling programs in the state and probably the nation. Pee Wee wrestlers begin at age 4 and continue through elementary and intermediate school. The kids are well coached and learn the fundamentals of the sport. This year we had several Old Dominion graduates, Virginia tech graduates and even an Olympic coach regularly in the room working with the kids. Several of our Pee Wee coaches were All-American’s in college.
The Pee Wee division competes in local tournaments on a regular basis where they can test the skills they have learned in the room.
The Pee Wee division is where it all begins.

The 2008-2009 Great Bridge Middle School Wrestling team had a very successful season. In January 2009 the Middle School won the Virginia State Middle School Championships beating Christiansburg by only 3 points. Outstanding wrestlers at the VA States were: Eric Merriam, Zack Nifong, Taylor Misuna and Corban Tanner. The team followed up their successful VA State title by winning the Chesapeake City Championship after starting the season with two losses. Great Bridge Middle ended the season triumphantly with four city champs- Eric Merriam, Taylor Misuna, Matt Reynolds and Andew Henline.
Once again, the hard work of the dedicated Middle School Coaches headed by Coach PJ Neumann and assisted by Dennis Merriam, Charlie Misuna and Daniel Graves resulted in a winning season for the Wildcats.

Great Bridge Wrestling Club is a year round operation where a dedicated athlete can reach his full wrestling potential. Our athletes compete in the nation's most prestigious tournaments including the Virginia Duals, the Beast of the East and the Iron Man, arguably the nation’s toughest high school tournament.
It can be said that the success of the Great Bridge Wrestling program is evident throughout the state of Virginia. Many former athletes in the Great Bridge Wrestling program are now coaching teams of their own and bringing the famous Granby System with them. We are proud of our legacy and proud of the fact that so many champions have graduated from the program, creating tougher competition in Virginia. We are preparing our athletes to meet the challenges of tomorrow.
